Manatee Charter School 21st Century Community Learning Center is FREE for all students in grades 5 through 8

Manatee Charter School (MCS), a school wide Title I charter school located in Manatee County, Florida, will provide a free Learning 21st CCLC after-school and summer program for 90 at-risk 5th-8th graders. The goal of the program is to provide opportunities for our students to participate in out of school time programming that emphasize academically enriching activities that foster academic and social youth development.

The program at MANA will provide a focus on technology through our STEM component in which students will learn technology, math and science activities. Additionally, students will participate in college readiness, health and nutrition, and the literary arts. Daily homework help and intervention instruction will be offered. Activities such as robotics, computers, hands on science projects, anti-bullying, careers and business will be offered. Partners such as Junior Achievement, Manatee Technical Institute, Regions Bank and the Boys and Girls Club will assist in this program. Activities for families will also be provided in technology, parenting, English classes, financial literacy and college informational workshops.

Free Camp Summer 2017


Providing a FREE Camp to any scholars entering grades 5-8 who needs to catch up to grade level, is currently participating in 21st CCLC or attends Manatee Charter School or simply wants to continue learning over the summer. We have 73 seats available. Breakfast and Lunch will be provide each day


Monday, June 05, 2017 to Thursday,     July 20, 2017 8:00 am – 1:00 pm

Exceptions: Tuesday 7/4/16 no service

  • 8:00-8:25- Breakfast
  • 8:30-11:00- Math, Technology, English Language Arts Instruction, Science, Recess
  • Lunch 11:30-12:00
  • 12:00-1:00- Activities- Lego Robotics, Health/Fitness, Drama, Coding, Gardening,
  • Simple Machine Legos, Humane Education, etc. Personal Enrichment:
  • College & Career Readiness, Bullying Prevention, Character integration and goal setting.


To help scholars stay engaged in learning and provide them with healthy and motivating activities for most of the summer. Scholars who keep learning throughout the summer are more likely to catch up or surpass grade level expectations.


Complete the summer registration form and return to Ms. Howard by Friday, May 26, 2017.
